Topic 1: Right to Repair

Tod Moore, manager, Grassroots & Advocacy, Auto Care Association

Tod will cover the status of Right to Repair on the federal level with a focus on HR 6570, Right to Equitable and Professional Auto Industry Repair Act. He will also provide an update on the ongoing court case in Massachusetts and possible next steps. Tod will discuss what actions folks can take both at a company and individual level, to continue to support Right to Repair and ensure that lawmakers understand its importance to our industry as well as the motoring public.

Topic 2: Pouring in the Profits

Scott Jones, Run-Rite

Scott Jones will talk about some of Run-Rite’s extensive product line:

  • Fuel systems and the specific challenges with GDI
  • Low speed pre-ignition and the problems it presents in today’s motors
  • Oil consumption and the problems blow by creates
  • Lubrication and the critical part it plays in turbo equipped cars

Scott will also talk about code P0420; when you don’t have enough data to verify catalyst replacement, where do you go? Run-Rite has a product that could help your diagnostic process.

Other Updates

We will also have updates on Pennsylvania Legislation SB777, SB 965, HR190, and HB2398 (Safety Inspection of highly automated vehicles).

Join us for the Chapter 30 meeting at the Montgomery Township Community Center, located at 1030 Horsham Rd (at the corner of Stump Rd and Horsham Rd) on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Dinner will be served at 6:15 with the meeting starting at 6:45. Seating is limited, so please be sure to send in your registration early to guarantee your seat!
