German Cars: Secrets to Success on Diagnosis

This class will cover a variety of topics related to German cars. This will include: Service information resources, scan tools, mechanical tools, Oscilloscopes, and vehicle identification resources. The focus will be primarily on VW/Audi with a mix of some BMW, Mini, Mercedes and Porsche as well. We will also delve into the diagnostic process, and some methods that can be used to be more efficient and accurate. The class will dive into the specifics of how faults are actually determined which will enable every technician to have a better understanding of what is going on behind the scenes inside the control unit. We will draw parallels to non-european vehicles and systems in order to establish that many of the underlying principles are not that different on a fundamental level. The class will NOT be highly focused on case studies (although there will be some), but instead will focus on an approach that can be broadly applied to ALL vehicles successfully. This class will primarily benefit any technician that feels they struggle with diagnosis on German cars.
